(Later i'll add images)
yesterday i started my first trip to Norway. It's incredible how you can put 5 people and their luggage into so small car. to be honest then i was on the front passenger seat and one bag was between my legs and one suitcase on my lap - in this way about 3 hour car-drive.
check in and security control went smoothly and the journey was ready to begin. The signs that we are flying over Norway (Bergen is in west and i was coming from the east) were the lack of plants - all rocks to be honest:P - and snow on the mountains and also still frozen lakes - be a utiful:). As we approached the airport the pilot said that the temperature in Bergen is around 12 degrees - cold, even if you come from Estonia...
After we had collected our luggage from the most destructive baggage line i have ever seen in any airport we went to the bus stop, where we decided not to wait for the bus but take a taxi to the hotel. There was the first sign of how expensive Norway is. It took around 15-20 minutes to get to the hotel and taxi bill was almost 90 EUROS!!, the weird part is that taking the bus would have been around the same all together.
Anyway taking the taxi was the right way for 2 reasons. First - we didn't know exactly where the hotel is and secondly - we got to the lobby just in time to see the second goal of the Ghana team in 1/8 finals :)
Anyway the hotel wasn't ready for us because the expected us to come one day later so we had some trouble with the rooms - mainly with the numbers of beds and we didn't get single beds for that night.Although it's a nice hotel in very beautiful place - then there are a few drawbacks, but never mind.
Today we felt very lucky, because the conference started in the afternoon and we had some time for sightseeing and the weather was very unusual for Bergen no rain at all - almost clear sky a pretty warm weather - lucky us.
But the place itself is very nice - beautiful architecture mixed with very beautiful nature. If there wouldn't be that many tourists and so high prizes, then it would be even better.
after the hike up and down the "hill" we were starving and found a cheap:P place were we got a kebab and a fanta only for 60 NOK - 8 EUR, btw 0,5l of water is 2 EUROS in the ordinary food store. Kebab was the spicyst i have ever had - we won't go back to this place - it wasn't good at all.
Then the conference started and after i had listened the first one for some time - i took out my laptop and started watching english-german game - sad results - goodbye the referee and the english team. The tutorial lectures was just too basic - at least this one and at least for me - so i didn't stay for the other 2 tutorials and came back to the hotel were i'm now waiting for the next game:)
Tomorrow is probably a busy day at the conference so probably no new posts - put never know.
at least the internet is for free in the hotel and conference center...:)
